Shut-down Hobbit Travel sets up refund process

A Twin Cities travel agency that abruptly closed its doors last month says has set up a procedure for customers to get refunds.

In a statement Thursday, Hobbit Travel says customers who can't get refunds from their credit card companies - or who paid with cash, check or debit cards -can contact its staff via e-mail or phone for help.

The statement indicates about 2,400 customers are out money.

Citing financial difficulties, Hobbit shut down Dec. 22, leaving thousands of customers scrambling to see if their trips were still on.
