Residents of more than five dozen apartments have been forced to find other places to live after a raging fire swept through the three-story building in Bemidji.

Firefighters from five area departments and the state Department of Natural Resources Forestry worked to bring the fire at the Regency Park Apartments under control Monday afternoon.

Bemidji firefighter Kelly Skime says all 63 units in the building were damaged. Skime says an estimate on how many people were displaced was not immediately available.

Fire Chief Dave Hoefer told the Bemidji Pioneer the fire appeared to have started on the balcony of a third-floor apartment.
