The University of Minnesota football program is looking for a new head football coach. Sunday, Athletic Director Joel Maturi fired Tim Brewster from that position. For the last five games of this season, the team will be coached by offensive coordinator Jeff Horton.

The firing of Brewster came the day after a loss to Purdue which dropped the Gophers record to 1 and 6 on the season. Maturi says the search for Brewster's replacement has already begun.

Phil Miller covers the U of M football team for the Star Tribune. He spoke with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer about the coaching change.
