Marine from Woodbury will be buried today at Fort Snelling

WOODBURY, Minn. (AP) - A young Marine who died after serving in Afghanistan and Iraq will be laid to rest Monday.

Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered all U.S. and state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Sgt. Ian Williams McConnell. The body of the 24-year-old Marine from Woodbury was found July 6 in California. The Rev. Buff Grace of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Stillwater, where McConnell will be eulogized, said the Marine took his own life.

McConnell was part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and had recently been accepted into the Marine's Special Operations Command.

McConnell will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
