Officials ID missing Lake Pepin boater

BAY CITY, Wis. (AP) -- The Pierce County sheriff's office has released the name of the man missing after he fell from a boat into Lake Pepin.

The man is identified as 38-year-old Troy Goehrs of Bay City.

Searchers continued looking for Goehrs Tuesday without finding him. The search is scheduled to resume Wednesday morning.

Sheriff's authorities say Goehrs was in a boat with his wife, Brenda Goehrs, on the lake east of Bay City Saturday. The woman told deputies her husband fell overboard and she jumped in after him. She said she swam to shore to get help after her husband went under water.

Lake Pepin is a wide spot in the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
