There's a distinct food theme to this weekend's festivals.

• Bring goggles if you're thinking of heading out to toss some tomatoes Saturday near the Metrodome. If you're wondering how you'll clean off the mashed tomato afterward, they'll be kind enough to hose participants down. Midwest Tomato Fest

• It's the final weekend of the Raspberry Festival in Hopkins, which wraps up Sunday with a Grande Day parade down Main Street... and a pig roast at the VFW. Hopkins Rasberry Festival

• The Great Minnesota Pie Extravaganza will take place at the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, celebrating the special place that pie has always had in American culture. Learn about the history of pies, share recipes and sample many different kinds of pies. Minnesota Historical Society

• And it's the Festival of Farms, put on by the Sustainable Farming Association. Twenty-one farms across the state will be available for touring on Saturday. Festival of Farms
