Man, woman found dead in Apple Valley parking lot

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (AP) -- A man and woman have been found dead in the parking lot of an Apple Valley apartment complex, victims of an apparent double shooting.

Police responded Saturday morning to a report of shots fired. They found the two people, both 41 years old, lying unresponsive. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the victims' names. However, they say the woman lived at the apartment complex and the man was from Dakota County.

A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says a weapon was found near the bodies. Police do not believe anyone else was involved.

The bodies have been taken to a medical examiner's office in Hastings for autopsies.
