7 injured in crash in northern Twin Cities

Seven people are injured after a three-vehicle crash in the northern Twin Cities.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Blaine.

Police say a car traveling at high speed apparently crossed the median and hit a sport utility vehicle, which caused a crash with a second SUV.

KSTP-TV reports five of the seven victims were quickly taken to hospitals.

One victim was trapped in the car. First responders worked about 30 minutes to get her out. She was flown to North Memorial Medical Center.

Blaine Police Chief Chris Olson says some of the victims were severely injured.

Police are investigating the crash.
