Fergus Falls says yes to deer hunt

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) -- City leaders in Fergus Falls have approved a limited archery hunt to control deer in the city limits.

City Council members voted unanimously Monday night to allow the hunt on some city-owned land.

KBRF-AM reports that no more than 10 hunters will be granted licenses. They'll have to pass a proficiency test and also be chosen by lottery.

The limited hunt follows a spate of car-deer accidents in the city in the past 18 months.
