Austin woman accused of guitar assault

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) -- An Austin woman is accused of assaulting a man with a guitar, leaving him with a gash over his left eye.

The 56-year-old woman faces tentative charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault.

The victim is a 53-year-old man. He told police that the woman got mad about something Friday night and threatened to smash a large-screen TV with the six-string acoustic guitar.

The man says she began swinging the guitar like a baseball bat. A Post-Bulletin report says when the man tried to intervene, the guitar caught him on the forehead.
