Advocates for gun control gathered at a rally in south Minneapolis Friday evening.

Just a few dozen people came out for the rally at Martin Luther King Park.

DFL state Rep.-elect Raymond Dehn of Minneapolis, was speaking, "It's going to take all of us talking to these legislators, and letting them know..."

"And demanding! It's not a polite conversation. "It's enough." broke in Joshua Gruber of Minneapolis.

"I certainly understand," Dehn said.

An unidentified woman asked Dehn if he agreed.

Gruber continued, "I didn't come for a vigil. There are far too many of those. It's time to stand up and say 'no.'"

"You're absolutely right," Dehn said.

Gruber later said it is possible to pass stricter gun laws while also preserving the right to carry firearms.

Meanwhile a Minnesota group called the Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance said teachers should be allowed to carry guns in schools, and that it will offer free training to teachers who secure permission to do so.
