7 arrests in N. St. Paul school melee

NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Seven students were arrested at a North St. Paul high school after a melee that sent one person to the hospital.

North St. Paul police Capt. Dustin Nikituk says fights broke out in several of the common areas at North High School Thursday. He describes the scene was chaotic.

Nikituk tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press additional arrests are possible as the investigation continues. Authorities say they don't know the motive for the fight.

The unidentified student taken to the hospital suffered non-life threatening injuries.
