South Dakota considers arming school staffers
A bill moving though the South Dakota legislature would allow teachers and other employees to carry guns in schools.
The bill has already passed the House and will be considered soon by the South Dakota Senate. If enacted, each school district would be able to set its own gun policy.
State Republican Rep. Scott Craig is the chief author of the bill and he discussed it with Morning Edition host Phil PIcardi.
