Officer's funeral today in St. Paul, Stillwater

Streets will be closing in St. Paul and in Stillwater today for the funeral of Officer Josh Lynaugh, who died last weekend.

Lynaugh was 30 years old and a five-year veteran of the St. Paul Police Department. He died Saturday, after suffering a heart attack following a foot chase on the city's East Side on Feb. 8.

Authorities say there will be street closures around the Cathedral of St. Paul from about 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including six blocks of Summit Avenue, the four eastern blocks of Selby Avenue and the eastern two blocks of Dayton Avenue. All surround the church.

Lynaugh will be buried in Stillwater, and the funeral procession will close roads there, as well today, including Osgood Avenue, north of Highway 36 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. That will block the usual entrance to the Washington County courthouse and government center, so visitors will have use an alternate entrance from Beach Road.
