Poll: 54% back Dayton's plan to tax the rich
Gov. Mark Dayton's proposal to increase income taxes on the state's highest earners has support from a slim 54 percent majority of Minnesotans, according to a new Star Tribune poll.
But 63 percent of poll respondents oppose the governor's plan to tax business services.
The poll indicates there is not a majority in support of taxing either personal services like haircuts and car repair or clothing items that cost more than $100.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
