Hwy. 169 near Mankato reopens after flooding

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- The southbound lanes of Highway 169 from St. Peter to Mankato are reopen a day after they were closed because of flooding and mudslides.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says steady rain and snowmelt led to about an inch of water on the highway Saturday. But the roads are now reopen according to MnDOT's website.

Still, drivers should take care to watch for areas where the road is covered by pools of standing water.
