West Fargo OKs 50 new teaching slots

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A school district in North Dakota's largest metropolitan area plans to hire the equivalent of 50 new teachers.

The West Fargo School Board has approved the additions, which is expected to cost the district about $2.6 million.

The Forum newspaper reports that hires are due to continuing growth in enrollment and new middle schools and high schools that are under construction.

Officials say the school district has increased by 570 students from the last school year. More than 360 new students are expected this fall.
