SPCO musicians may vote on latest offer

Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra musicians on Tuesday have offered to take managements latest contract proposal to a vote, if management agrees to three changes.

The offer comes from the musicians as the board of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra plans a meeting Tuesday afternoon to decide the future of the orchestra.

In a letter to Interim SPCO President Dobson West the musicians negotiating committee asks the board consider its offer at Tuesday afternoon's meeting.

The musicians ask for removal of certain references to the American Federation of Musicians and the Integrated Media Agreement which covers broadcast and Internet use of SPCO performances. It also asks for a date change in the retirement incentive package and a change in language about disciplinary hearings for musicians. Finally the musicians ask for a full legal copies of the memoranda of agreement.

There was no immediate response from management.
