Snow in northern Minn. followed by record cold
A storm that left 17.7 inches of snow in the city of Duluth is followed by record low temperatures.
And some parts of northern Minnesota are recording temperatures Saturday that are below zero.
The Duluth News Tribune reports that the Duluth International Airport saw a low of 11 degrees on Saturday morning. The previous record for April 20 was 14 degrees, set in 1928.
Embarrass saw a low temperature of 14 degrees below zero. A weather spotter in Ely recorded a temp of 8 below zero.
A record low was also set in International Falls on Saturday. It was a low of 4 degrees above zero there on Saturday. The old record was 18 degrees, set in 1966.
