MPR's Tom Crann went out last week just north of Minneapolis, off Highway 169, to New Hope, to meet Sharon Stiteler. The blogger behind Birdchick.com, and a National Park Ranger at the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, is out with a new book: "1001 Secrets Every Birder Should Know: Tips and Trivia for the Backyard and Beyond."

Crann and Stiteler met in her friend Lynne Schoenborn's suburban backyard patio to get a sneak peak at the book's highlights, and get a few questions answered.

Among them: For someone who has trouble picking out the differences between a warbler and a wren, what are some tips to get started on the right foot? And, now that we're in the nesting season, what's the best way to attract lovebirds to your yard so you can maybe see some baby birds later?
