No charges in elderly neglect investigation

CHISHOLM, Minn. (AP) -- A St. Louis County prosecutor says no charges are warranted following an investigation into allegations of neglect at an assisted-living facility in Chisholm.

The Minnesota Department of Health cited Hillcrest Terrace for failing to recognize an elderly resident's health had deteriorated. Paramedics were called when the man was found unconscious and suffering from critically low blood sugar due to diabetes and a urinary tract infection.

County Attorney Mark Rubin issued a news release saying the incident has been properly resolved at Hillcrest and no further action was necessary.
