Big Twin Cities road closures this weekend
Some major interstate routes through the Twin Cities will be closed for roadwork this weekend.
The work involves two bridges, Park Avenue and Portland Avenue, that run over Interstates 94 and 35W just south of downtown Minneapolis.
Starting Friday at 10 p.m., northbound Interstate 35W will close between downtown Minneapolis and Highway 280. Southbound I-35W will close between Highway 55 and the I-94 and I-35W split.
Eastbound I-94 will also close between Highway 55 and the I-94 and I-35W split. Westbound I-94 will close between Highway 280 and downtown Minneapolis.
I-35W traffic will be detoured to westbound I-94, to I-694 and to Highway 280.
The interstates will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday.
