Shootings in metro area leave 2 dead

Law enforcement agencies were investigating several shootings in the metro area this weekend.

The Richfield police said officers called to a house found a 20-year-old man shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers arrested two people who were also in the home.

In St. Paul, three people were shot in a Frogtown bar and one died. Police said they did not think the incident was random.

The shooting happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Malina's Sports Bar at Van Buren and Dale streets. It was not clear if the shooter knew the victims.

The names of the victims have not been released, and the police were still searching for a suspect.

Two men were shot in separate incidents in Minneapolis. Sgt. Bill Palmer said one incident occurred in the front yard of a home on the far north side.

The second shooting happened downtown at a Pizza Luce restaurant. Palmer said two men got in a fight, and one pulled a gun and shot the other. Police later found the gun in the parking lot. The man who was shot had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police had no suspects in custody in either of the shootings, Palmer said.
