MNsure health insurance call center to open

The call center for Minnesota's new health insurance exchange is due to open Sept. 3.

MNsure executive director April Todd-Malmlov updated board members Wednesday on customer assistance plans for the exchange.

Todd-Malmlov says they're opening the call center about a month ahead of open enrollment because they want to be ready to answer consumers' questions early.

About 1.3 million Minnesotans are expected to get coverage through MNsure, including 300,000 who currently don't have insurance, under the Obama administration's health care overhaul.
