No ID yet on man found dead in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) -- Police are saying little about the death of a man whose body was found in a Moorhead home Wednesday night.

The man's name has not been released. Moorhead Deputy Police Chief Shannon Monroe says the body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office in St. Paul and officers are still awaiting confirmation of the person's identity.

Neighbors tell The Forum that the home was occupied by a man who may be in his 80s and was a kind of grandfather figure in the neighborhood. They describe him as a kind man who would sometimes hire people from a nearby homeless shelter to do work for him.

No one has been arrested in the death.
