St. Paul marked the 30th anniversary of the Rondo Days Festival on Saturday, July 20, 2013. The heyday of the Rondo neighborhood was the 1920s through the 1950s. It's remembered as a close-knit, vibrant, primarily African-American community, but much of the neighborhood was bulldozed to make way for Interstate 94. Now, the festival draws thousands of people to St. Paul every year.
