Woman, 79, found slain in her home near Willmar

Authorities are searching for whoever killed a 79-year-old church volunteer in her home near Willmar.

The body of Lila Warwick was found Monday evening by Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies who were called to her home.

Sheriff Daniel Hartog says someone from Redeemer Lutheran Church called the sheriff's office requesting a check on Warwick.

Warwick lived alone. The Star Tribune reports she helped with office duties and vacation Bible school at the church.

An autopsy is pending. The West Central Tribune reports there have been no arrests.

Both the sheriff's office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office.
