Wells Fargo is laying off 102 more in Minnesota

Wells Fargo is laying off yet more employees in its mortgage business, including 102 in Minnesota.

The job cuts are part of a new round of some 900 layoffs nationwide. The company recently terminated the jobs of about 500 mortgage employees in the Twin Cities.

A Wells Fargo spokeswoman said rising interest rates have caused its mortgage refinance business to fall, reducing the need for employees in that business.

Wells Fargo has about 8,000 employees in its mortgage operations in Minnesota.
