Police are looking into the discovery of human remains found in a river park near Rice, Minnesota. They could be those of a 24-year-old Eden Prairie woman missing since May.

The Eden Prairie police say the remains were found in a shallow grave by a hiker Saturday afternoon in Stearns County's Mississippi River Park. Investigators aren't saying yet if they believe the remains are those of Mandy Matula, last seen May 1 leaving her home with a former boyfriend.

But a website set up to help the months-long search for her says her family believes the remains are hers. The website also says her former boyfriend's cell phone had been tracked to the area about the time Matula disappeared.

David Roe shot and killed himself as police were about to question him about her disappearance nearly six months ago.

Eden Prairie police, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are all working on the case.
