Minnesota could become the first state to end homelessness among veterans. And it could do it in just two years. That's just one of the goals of an ambitious new statewide plan to combat homelessness. 


A group of state commissioners will introduced the plan this afternoon along with St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and the incoming mayor of Minneapolis, Betsy Hodges.  


The plan will lay out specific steps that 11 different state agencies are pledging to take in the next two years to reduce the state's homeless population and to prevent new people from becoming homeless.  


MPR's Phil Picardi spoke with one of the chief architects of the plan, Cathy ten Broeke.  She's also the state Director to Prevent and End Homelessness.
