No vaping: In Fargo, e-cigs treated same as tobacco

City leaders in Fargo have decided to include electronic cigarettes in the city's tobacco ordinance.

WDAY reports that the decision means it will be illegal to give or sell e-cigarettes to minors.

E-cigarettes are battery-powered devices that heat a liquid nicotine solution and create a water vapor that users inhale. Manufacturers say the mist is harmless and regular smokers who switch to e-cigarettes lower their health risk.

North Dakota state law prohibits smoking in any public places, which includes e-cigarettes.
