Fallen Marine's remains go home to Waseca

South-central Minnesota residents lined a procession route and held flags to pay their respects to a 20-year-old Marine killed in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Caleb Erickson died Feb. 28 from injuries he received in an attack by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan.

The Free Press of Mankato reports his body arrived at Owatonna's airport Saturday afternoon and from there it was taken by motorcade to Waseca.

The route on old Highway 14 between Owatonna and Waseca was lined with well-wishers holding American flags and signs of appreciation.

A visitation for Erickson is set for Sunday afternoon and Monday morning at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. Burial is Monday at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.

Gov. Mark Dayton ordered all federal and state flags be flown at half-staff Monday.
