China, Mexico lead Minnesota quarterly export growth

Minnesota's exports grew by 6 percent in the last quarter of 2013 compared to the same period a year earlier.

China and Mexico drove the quarterly growth. Exports to China rose 35 percent, to $743 million, while exports to Mexico were up 32 percent, to $439 million, the the Minnesota Trade Office reported.

Sales to Canada, the state's largest export market, were down 7 percent in the fourth quarter. Overall export numbers for the full year 2013 were down slightly, the trade office said.
