Elizabeth Warren in St. Paul for Al Franken campaign
Senator Al Franken was joined by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren at a campaign event Saturday at Macalester College in St. Paul. The Franken campaign is making a pitch for campaign volunteers as the 2014 election nears.
Warren is popular with the Democratic base. She whipped up the crowd with a speech on issues like economic inequality, global warming and unions.
"I'm not going to lean back, I'm not going to whimper about what the Republicans are up to, I'm not going to whine about what they're doing in Washington. I'm going to fight back. And when I fight back, I want Al Franken beside me in this fight all the way," Warren said.
Franken won his Senate seat in 2008 by just 312 votes following a long recount process. Democrats are worried they could lose seats in Congress in upcoming midterm elections as a result of low voter turnout.
