County approves wrongful death settlement
The St. Louis County Board has agreed to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a teen killed in a 2012 car crash.
Commissioners agreed to pay $100,000 to the family of 16-year-old Hannah Wilson, of Virginia. The family said an improperly placed road construction sign contributed to the accident that caused her death.
The county was among several defendants in the lawsuit, which also included Benchmark Engineering and Jola & Sopp Excavating. Wilson's vehicle was struck by an SUV on Sept. 19, 2012. The SUV driver was also named as a defendant.
WDIO-TV says the board's resolution says the county has denied liability, but agrees to settle.
