St. Cloud toddler stable after gunshot wound

A 3-year-old boy is in stable condition in St. Cloud with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

He was taken to the hospital Monday morning.

Investigators believe the boy accidentally pulled the trigger an a gun that was within his reach, stored in a "negligent" way, a police statement said.

St. Cloud police also say they have probable cause to arrest the boy's father for negligent storage of a gun, and for "being a prohibited felon in possession of a firearm."

Officers have found the car the father was believed to be driving but are still trying to locate him.
