Kent Nerburn has spent his life being creative, whether that is as a sculptor or a writer. One day Nerburn received a letter from a fan named Jennifer doubting her choice to dedicate herself to art. The letter lead Nerburn to reflect on how art came to play such a large role in his life and what advice he'd give young artist. That is how "Dancing with the Gods: Reflections on Life and Art" came about.

"I'm happy if everyone reads it and everyone enjoys it," Nerburn said. "But if I can get to the Jennifers of the world, that's what I really want."

MPR News host Euan Kerr sat down with Nerburn to talk about what he says to creatives who doubt themselves and their art.
