7 injured in school bus crash near Faribault
(AP) - A school bus collided head-on with an SUV on a Rice County road Tuesday morning, causing minor injuries to six students and the driver of the SUV.
The crash happened about 7:45 a.m. It appeared the driver of the SUV lost control on the slushy roadway and crossed the center line, the Rice County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Sheriff's Sgt. Barry Hendrickson said some of the children and the SUV driver were taken to District One Hospital in Faribault for treatment of minor injuries.
Sarah Munoz, a hospital spokeswoman, said the hospital treated and released one adult and four children ranging in age from 7 to 15.
The Waterville-Elysian-Morristown bus was carrying 24 students ranging from preschool to high school age.
