When the Minnesota Timberwolves face the Utah Jazz tonight at the Target Center, Kevin McHale will be coaching the team. McHale begins his second stint as coach of the Wolves after yesterday's firing of Randy Whitman.

McHale, who has been the team's vice president of basketball operations since 1995, will step down from that role to devote his full attention to coaching.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Brit Robson, the author of "On the Ball" for The Rake online.
