Authorities ID Minneapolis man struck, killed by bus
A man who died after being hit by a bus Wednesday has been identified as Andrew Morris Beisner, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Beisner, 71, of Minneapolis was walking at the intersection of 2nd Street South and 3rd Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis when the Metro Transit bus struck him. He died at the scene.
The bus was heading eastbound on 2nd Street turning north onto 3rd Avenue when it hit Beisner, Metro Transit spokesperson Howie Padilla said.
Metro Transit placed the driver on leave, which is standard practice. Metro Transit police and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
