Man charged in Duluth shooting

A 24-year-old Duluth man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man early yesterday morning.

Stephen Louis Cobenais was charged with second-degree murder today, according to Brad Wick, spokesperson for the Duluth Police Department. He was also charged for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Mario Demon Highler, 31, died after being shot in the head at an apartment building in Duluth. The medical examiner's office has ruled the death a homicide.

Cobenais was arrested yesterday. According to police officials, the alleged murder took place at the suspect's apartment.
