Former Vice President Walter Mondale dies at 93

Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale, credited with expanding the office of the vice president and the first presidential candidate to choose a woman as running mate, died Monday in Minneapolis. He was 93. Mondale’s death was announced in a statement from his family. No cause was cited.
