Ramsey County to end felony prosecutions stemming from minor traffic stops

The Ramsey County Attorney's office will no longer prosecute felony cases resulting from traffic stops not related to public safety, such as for broken tail lights, expired tabs or air fresheners hanging from rearview mirrors.

County Attorney John Choi says those kinds of stops rarely find contraband and disproportionately affect people of color. This is an MPR News morning update for Thursday, September 9, 2021. Hosted by Cathy Wurzer.
