Minnesota State Fair opens its gates for annual 12-day run

A sizable crowd gathered at the main gate on Snelling Avenue, including Maryjane Burgett, a first grader from St. Paul. She asked her dad to be first in the Fair and they went to the gate to wait at 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon.

This is an evening update for Thursday, August 24, hosted by Nina Moini. Music by Gary Meister.
