Minnesota’s Somali community is rejecting a call from President Donald Trump to end temporary protected status for people from Somalia living in the state.

Rising property taxes are on the minds of a lot of Minnesotans as they've received their tax estimates for 2026. Across local governments statewide, the tax levy is proposed to increase by 6.9 percent next year. There are some places where it is above that.

Another defendant in the Feeding Our Future case is expected to find out Monday how much time he'll spend in federal prison. 24-year-old Abdimajid Nur was among five people convicted last year of stealing $47 million from government child nutrition programs by falsely claiming to serve 18 million meals out of a small Shakopee restaurant.
