Hundreds march to remember Alex Pretti who was shot and killed by federal agents 1 month ago

Over the weekend, hundreds gathered for a march on the streets of south Minneapolis to mark four weeks since Alex Pretti was shot and killed by federal agents. They were there to remember Pretti and to renew calls for an end to the surge of immigration agents in Minnesota. Marchers also pushed for action to help people facing economic hardship from the federal operation.

A House state government committee will take another run this week at a proposal to set up an Office of the Inspector General. Last week, the bill stalled after the tied committee split on an amendment that would pull a law enforcement unit from the office. Republicans say that's a nonstarter.

Minnesota anglers would be able to keep fewer walleye under a proposed reduction to the statewide limit. For the last 70 years, anglers have been able to take home six walleye from most Minnesota lakes.

We are officially in the year of the fire horse. Lunar New Year began last week, and thousands of people visited the Mall of America for its annual Lunar New Year celebration over the weekend. It's one of the largest cultural events for the Lunar New Year in Minnesota.
