Local, tribal, state and federal officials are conducting a simulated emergency drill today Tuesday at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant along the Mississippi River. The drill involves Xcel Energy — which operates the plant — along with local, tribal and state agencies from both Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says people near the Prairie Island nuclear plant may see emergency vehicles in the area today.
