The attorney general of Massachusetts alleges Twin Cities-based UnitedHealthcare defrauded state's Medicaid program

The attorney general of Massachusetts alleges in a new lawsuit that Twin Cities-based UnitedHealthcare defrauded that state's Medicaid program out of $100 million dollars. Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell says United fraudulently manipulated the health status of people in a public health plan in order to get larger payments from the state in a "growth at all costs" strategy.

A Minneapolis city council committee voted this week to block a plan for redevelopment at a former gas station at George Floyd Square. A team of city staff had recommended a partnership with the community group Agape to build something new at the shuttered Speedway station, now known as People's Way.

A multi-year project to make repairs and improvements at a popular stop along the North Shore resumed this week. The Cascade River Wayside along Highway 61 west of Grand Marais dates back nearly a century. It provides access to the Lake Superior shore, and also to inland waterfalls. Lake-side parking at the wayside will be closed this summer. The waterfall trails will remain accessible.
