Monday is Mike Lindell's deadline to put up money for a hand recount of Minnesota’s primary ballots. President Donald Trump’s pick in the Republican primary for governor, Lindell, has been disputing the primary results — even though House Speaker Lisa Demuth beat him by about forty five thousand votes. 

That margin means the state won't fund a recount, but last week Lindell said he would pay for it personally. He must formally request one in writing. The full recount would cost more than eight hundred thousand dollars. Lindell has to pay that in advance or through a surety bond.

Dozens of people gathered Sunday afternoon to remember Philando Castile, 10 years after a police officer shot and killed him during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights. The annual Central Honors Philando event was started by Castile’s high school classmates shortly after his death.

11-hundred comments from Minneapolis North Loop residents will be considered as part of an alternative plan to turn the defunct Star Tribune printing plant into a data center

. The comments were collected during workshops hosted by the North Loop Neighborhood Association and the Minnesota Design Center. 

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has awarded $2 million in Indian Child Welfare Act off-reservation grants to seven Native organizations, including a legal nonprofit in Minneapolis. The grants support culturally appropriate services that promote family stability and prevent unnecessary family separation. The federal Indian Child Welfare Act or ICWA became law nearly 50 years ago in response to Native American children being removed from their families and communities at high rates.

crews are installing the historic Kern Bridge in a new location in Mankato

 Monday. The bowstring arch through-truss bridge was built in 1873, but removed from its crumbling perch over the Le Seuer River six years ago. It's now restored and will carry pedestrians and bicyclists over the Blue Earth River, connecting two parks.
