About 150 doctors at Allina Health’s Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and its Unity campus in Fridley began a four-day strike Monday. The demonstration was held by Doctors Council-SEIU, the union that represents the physicians. Physicians have been negotiating their first union contract for three years but haven’t been able to reach a deal.
The Olmsted County Board will consider competing plans Tuesday for the long-vacant Seneca Foods site. The county purchased the 10-acre parcel in 2019 for $5.6 million. One proposal is for a 2,000-seat performing arts center. A new children’s museum is the other proposal on the table.
Fire officials in Duluth say a worker was injured when a large fuel tank exploded at a fuel transfer facility. Authorities say two workers were removing remaining fuel from a mostly-empty 17,000-gallon tank when it exploded and caught fire.
